Wedding Extravaganza 2012

It was another fabulous year at the Wedding Extravaganza! Our inspiration: a fabulous yellow chevron fabric. The clean & contemporary backdrop was the perfect compliment to our gorgeous gowns & bold cobalt bridesmaids. With citrus accents, this theme would be an amazing setting for your wedding! Sarah & Jack * January 8, 2011

It is only fitting that our first bride feature is one of our own.  Miss Sarah Pattee & Jack Carraher were married one year ago today at the Temple for Performing Arts in Downtown Des Moines.  The two met while Sarah was a student at ISU, and a few short years later they were married!  In theme with Sarah's "Winter Wonderland", she chose a rich color pallet of deep red, ivory, & chocolate.  Her Pronovias gown & Bill Levkoff bridesmaids were beyond elegant & classy.  Plus, there's nothing better than a hot cup of Starbucks on a cold winter day!  Definitely one of our favorites!  Love you Sarah; we wish you and Jack many more years of joy & happiness!

A New Year, A New Beginning

Today marks the beginning of a new year and a new era for An Elegant Affair!  Not only is this our first blog, but after 14 years the store is under new ownership.  No worries though, we have probably already met!  Longtime manager of An Elegant Affair, I also managed a bridal salon in Nashville, Tennessee for several years before moving back to Cedar Falls this fall.  This is my passion; to me a wedding is all about THE DRESS.  But more importantly, it is about the feeling you experience when you find THE PERFECT ONE.  Like picking out a mate, each dress has a personality and style all of its own.  It is our job to help you find the right one!  

For me, this is one of the most rewarding things in life!
